Dr. Zapata earned his medical degree from Fundación Universitaria de Ciencias de la Salud – Hospital de San Jose (Bogota – Colombia). He completed a fellowship at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC, then served a General Surgery internship and Urology residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
