The main office for Advanced Urology Institute was established in 1979 by Dr. Byron McCormick. For the first decade of service, Dr. McCormick primarily practiced as a solo practitioner building a reputation of excellent urological care. In addition, Dr. McCormick established a reputation of strong community support and participation as exampled by his founding of a free sports physical program for area students – a program which continues to this day.
In 1990, Dr. Neal Dunn joined with Dr. McCormick and began to expand the scope and reach of urologic care within the community. As the practice grew, so did our commitment to advances in urological technology and to community involvement, including campaign leadership for the March of Dimes,The American Cancer Society and Bays Medical Society.
The main office underwent a major renovation and expansion in 2003 bringing the total square footage to 14,000 of exam, treatment and office space. In addition, on-site CT was established at the main office in 2003.
2007 saw the addition of a new office and another urologist, Dr. Warren Hitt, a long-term and well-established solo practitioner, to Advanced Urology Institute.
As the population of Bay County and the surrounding areas grew, so did the need for state-of-the-art urological care. Over the years, six additional urologists and three physician assistantsjoined the practice to meet the increasing need for urological care.
